Our ‘Active Lifestyles’ scheme encompasses many different types of exercise, relevant to those living with various health conditions. The scheme offers this exercise via gym programmes, swimming and community led classes. All our instructors are highly qualified in their chosen field of expertise and will assess and manage each participant in a professional and informed way. The classes offered are

Exercise Referral – For those living with medical conditions and/or inactivity.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV – For those after a cardiac event or those with controlled high blood pressure and/or Angina issues.
Respiratory Exercise – For those living with COPD, severe Asthma and other respiratory issues.
Active and Able – A falls prevention exercise class for those who are less stable on their feet and/or living with osteoporosis, arthritis, etc.
Active Fun and Fitness – For those over 50’s who enjoy low impact aerobic exercise.

Stroud

Lots on offer at Stroud District Council to help you towards a healthier and more active lifestyle. We manage community sports facilities where you can attend an exercise class, the gym, go for a swim or hire sports courts and pitches. We manage health specific programmes including a range of free health walks across the district and our GP referral scheme. We also offer reduced rates on some activities with our concession scheme (if you qualify). There’s also lots else happening throughout the year for children, families, adults and older people.
